Data Analytics

Company return is shown first: revenue, cost, profit, margin, and cash received in one view. Market and price data explain the change.

Scope

Deliverables

  • Market analysis

Orders by customer and region, with the rising and falling parts shown separately.

  • Trend analysis

Revenue, cost, and orders by month, for comparing rises and falls.

  • Price and cost

Selling price, purchase cost, and margin, as a reference before a quote.

  • Financial analysis

Revenue, profit, money received, and amounts still outstanding, in one view.

  • Operating screen

The figures needed in daily review, with the ones that changed marked.

  • Operating reports

Reports in the form already used at month start and month end, so the same figures are not rebuilt separately.

  • Alerts

When a figure passes a set limit, the warehouse view can mark the location and notify the people named for that alert.

  • Several sources

Figures from sales, finance, and the factory are brought into one set.

Management view

Market analysis

Orders by customer, region, and product, with increases and decreases shown separately.

Trend analysis

Revenue, cost, and orders compared by month, against the previous month and the same month last year.

Price and cost

Selling price, purchase cost, and margin in one view, for a price change or a quotation.

Financial analysis

Revenue, profit, money received, and amounts still outstanding. The summary can be checked against the detail.

Users

Management, sales, finance, and the factory

Management

Revenue, profit, and cash, and which figures have passed a set limit.

Sales

Customers, regions, and orders, including amounts not yet received.

Finance

Cost, margin, receivables, and cash received, from the same set of figures.

Factory

Output and stock. When a figure passes a set limit, the warehouse view can mark the location and notify the people named for that alert.

Process

From the metrics to a daily view

  1. Choose the figures

Decide which figures to review, such as revenue, margin, orders, and money received, or price and cost.

  2. Confirm the data sources

Confirm which systems sales, finance, and the factory use, and which definitions must match.

  3. Build the screen and the reports

The daily screen and the month-start and month-end reports use the same figures.

  4. Alert when a limit is passed

Set the metric, the limit, and who is notified. When required, mark the location on the warehouse view.

Next to this

When stock or output goes out of range, the alert is marked on the digital twin of the warehouse, on the row it belongs to.
